What is the BIFF method?
A method popularised by mediator Bill Eddy for writing to an ex-partner: Brief, Informative, Friendly and Firm. Stick to the facts, propose one clear action, do not reopen old arguments. The result: less conflict and faster replies.
Can I edit the message before sending it?
Of course. Copy it, then adapt it to your situation in WhatsApp, by text or by email. The templates are a neutral starting point, not a script.
Is anything I type here stored anywhere?
No. The names, amounts and dates you enter never leave your browser: nothing is sent to any server, nothing is kept.
Why write in a neutral tone?
Because a factual message gets a useful reply far more often than one loaded with blame — and because your messages may be read again later, including by a mediator or a judge. A neutral tone protects everyone, starting with the children.
